Cheer!

well cheer is over officially. just thought i'd give you maybe a quick overview of how it went.

i started after the football season was over and right before basketball/wrestling season started. First of all, we had to make signs to decorate the school with...

My first sign! It was a hit. :)

Then there were some wrestling meets...

My first cheer event. No, the car was not in motion when this was taken.

Our school has kind of been lacking in spirit, which kind of pissed off Mr. Luce. He was so sick of it in fact, that he decided to give us some shirts and leave the rest up to us. So this year, Mr. Luce took the initiative to buy shirts for the student body to replace their Student ID cards. So if they wanted to still get into the games for free, they had to wear these shirts. You probably can't tell, but they say "REGULATORS" above a cowboy on a horse and underneath, it says "Mount Up". Nice work, Lucey. Nice work.

Our bad-a cheer crowd. It's not a very good picture, but you get the idea... we usually look more excited to be there, but we were losing, so we're pretty unhappy.

Then there were the trips...

And here is me just... as me in my uniform! :)

Well, until next year folks. I am done with cheer. Now what to do with the rest of my afternoons...

Déjà vu!

speaking of which, i just realized that i'd really like to know what that phrase means and in what language. someone help me out?

anyways, i bet you're wondering what in the heck i am doing up so late blogging... again. and if you weren't wondering that before, i bet you are now. and if you're not wondering now... please start, because if you don't then i'll just feel ridiculous. the answer is that i so brilliantly just watched the scariest episode of "Psych" i have EVER seen, and i watched it right before i'd planned on going to bed. it was a purposely cliché horror movie kind of thing, with the crazy psycho killer at the summer camp that kills off anyone found alone, but it still got to me. the thing is, the show started with a girl watching a slasher movie by herself at night during a storm, and i said out loud "oh yeah, THERE'S a good idea. watch a scary movie alone and everything will turn out great." then there's me, freaking out about a horror episode on a comedy show. go figure. so when i went upstairs to take a shower, i naturally pictured everything happening to me that happened in the show. but can you blame me?! one girl got killed right when she got out of the shower! and the other guy died when the killer shoved his head into the sparking circuit board (is that the right term? i mean the box with all the breakers and switches. it was sparking.) with a wet mop. aaaaah!

i'm sorry, that turned out longer than i'd meant for it to. my point is that i'm too scared to go to bed right now, at least until Dad gets home. but since that probably won't be for like another hour or so, i'm trying to distract myself to get my mind off of Clive the psychotic serial killer/camp counselor.

i guess i'll make this kind of an update. like i said during my last insomnia attack, all i've really been focusing on lately is school, cheer, and prom. i did end up getting a dress, but i'm not going to put a picture up, because we still have to alter it. i promise, i'll fill you in on all that grandity (ha! i invented another word!) when the time comes... after March 21st. but for the fun of it, i'll put up some pictures from my adventure to the prom dress store with my almost-sister-in-law Kristen, my cousin Jordan, and her boyfriend Pico a few Saturdays ago!

Possibly the ugliest dress i have ever seen. But it came in my size, so i tried it on!

Aww... i wanted that dress SO dang bad!

in other news, i am almost done with cheer for the year. this weekend was state wrestling, but we ended up not going for several reasons. 1: only 5 boys went, and there would be like 4 hours between each match. 2: we wouldn't be allowed to go down on the mats at all. 3: we'd be so far away from the mats that no one would be able to hear us. 4: if the cheerleaders went, we'd have to take a bus. but since we didn't, the boys were able to take the school district's Excursion. however, i did get to go to region wrestling last week, and that was pretty fun. i got a TON of pictures from that, but only because my friend Kayson stole my camera and got a little... "trigger" happy. :)

Nik(olette), Nic(ole), and me!

i have some other pictures, but i'm too lazy to put them on here. anyways, the basketball season ends officially in 2 weeks, on the 28th. hurray! i would feel bad for saying that, but i happen to know of a few basketball players who are ready for the season to be over, so i can't blame myself for feeling the same way. once it's over, i fully intend on doing a post all about it... but we'll see if that holds up.

school-wise, things are going pretty well. i'm passing all of my classes, even if just barely. my Computer Literacy class is kicking my butt, and i do not appreciate it. i also do not appreciate the project that i'm doing in Earth Systems. we're learning about the water cycle and water conservation, so from today until Tuesday the 17th, i have to keep a "water log." which is where i keep track of when i use water, what i used it for, and how much. plus, it has to be cute and believe me, mine is! i'm totally bragging about it on here when i get done with it. (i keep saying i'll blog about things, but do you really think i'm going to? i don't think so either.) oh! but i do have kind of some good news. ever heard of Girls State? well, i've been involved with trying to get accepted into that, and this last Wednesday i, along with the other 7 girls going for it, had an interview to determine which 4 girls get to go. it was a horrible, horrible experience. there are the initial 4 that get to go in June, then they choose 2 alternates (in case someone gets sick or can't go for whatever reason). but apparently the Legion is trying to get more funds so that 5 girls can go, but that means that with the 2 alternates, that leaves 1 girl hangin out in the cold. yikes! we were supposed to find out on Wednesday night who got chosen, but they couldn't decide, so they asked for another day. and another one. i heard they were supposed to come to our houses today, but i'm pretty sure that didn't happen with anyone, and it sure as heck didn't happen to me. i hope i get a call tomorrow... the suspense is killing me!

speaking of which, i think i've gotten over the whole Psych thing now that my father is home... and he has a gun. he told me so after i told him why i was so scared. haha now, i realize that this was a really scatterbrained, ridiculously vague post, but i just can't seem to be able to think straight when my brain keeps nagging at me to do stupid things like sleep or blink. even this little paragraph is havin a hard time sorting itself out in my head... but whatever. i'm off to bed to dream about serial killers and the water cycle. i hope you have better dreams than i do.

It is currently 3:14 AM

and i have a mild to severe case of insomnia. this is probably due to the fact that when i got home today at 2:15, i changed into some comfy pants, ranted to my mom for a little bit about the fact that i have been done with Personal Progress for almost 2 years, but they just barely added another YW value to the program ("virtue") and my YW leader expects me to do like all the experiences and a 10 hour project for it, and then i crashed on my couch. and slept until like 6 ish, or whenever it was that we ate dinner. obviously, that was a less-than-brilliant idea. i'm now wide awake, even though i've been laying on the couch trying to sleep since 11:50. don't ask me why i felt the need to blog about this, because i'm not sure how i would answer that question.

instead, i'll tell you what's been going on in my life.

for the most part, this "life" i mentioned basically consists of school, cheer, food, and sleep. oh, and prom. but that's more like what i do after school in meetings, and what i think about while i'm doing all of those activities i just mentioned... except sleep. i think about fried-chicken farms when i sleep, apparently. i don't know if you particularly care or not, but prom this year is going to be... how can i put this delicately... well, it's going to be the s-word, pretty much. no, not just "s-word." the s-word... that's a good thing. basically, the theme for prom was TOTALLY my idea, and i like to tell that to anyone who will listen. are you ready for this? "A Walk In The Park." see, the last few proms i've seen/heard of have had some pretty heavy motifs... last year, the theme was "You're My Everything." seriously? this is high school. chances are you're not going to marry whoever you go to prom with, so why have such an intense feel to it? my class isn't even that into this whole prom idea, but we "have" to do it (i'm not going to lie, i would have been incredibly sad if we didn't have prom. but i just don't want to make a HUGE deal out of it.), so we just figured "hey, we might as well make this as fun and chill as we can." so i threw out this idea, and seemed to be pretty well-liked. not only is it just like a nice, chill theme, but we know pretty much exactly what our decorations are going to be and exactly where we're going to get them from. the best part? it's going to cost like nothing. as of now, it looks like we're going to make more money from tickets than we're going to spend on decorations. cha-ching! oh, and our promenade song is balla... "Dancing In The Moonlight" by Toploader, the one from "A Walk To Remember." it's the greatest song! i know i said i didn't want to get all worked up about prom, but i am pretty excited to see how this turns out. right now, it's on March 21st... which is also the day that my sister's baby is due, so my mom isn't going to be here to see me promenade. bummer. oh well, i'd for sure choose the baby over prom if i could, too!

hmm what else to write about... cheer is going pretty alright. i'm finally confident enough in myself to not freak out and have a panic attack every time there's a basketball game. i need to get a picture of me in my cute little uniform and put it on here... OH and i sooo have to get a picture of our cheer crowd... i'm for sure doing that next chance i get. :)

gosh i'm running out of thoughts now. i had like a billion running through my head when i was trying to sleep... oh wait, i know why i can't write down those thoughts. it's because they are top secret ones about Sadie's! haha oh i am so clever so clever just so so clever.

okay well i'm stopping here, because i think my words stopped making sense. i think i'm going to go try and sleep again... wish me luck, folks.

P.S. Dad got some microSD cards for our phones, so i was FINALLY able to get pictures off of my phone and onto here. i'll show you a few of my favorites!

This is a picture done by Pyper. It's... something. I don't know, but it has the words "Pyper", "Jennifer" (ish), and "i♥u", so i like it. :)

Frick frickety frickin fricker!

Pardon my French, but that's the only words i can come up with to describe my feelings for snow/ice. I had quite the run in this morning with it... actually, it was more of a slide in. When i was driving to school this morning, i took a turn faster than i had anticipated, and began sliding out of controle. I then proceeded to slide off the road and get stuck, back-end first.

At first, i tried to kind of dig the snow out of the way of the tires to try and get out of there, but it was like 2 1/2 feet of snow, when an inch or so of solid ice on top. If i was maybe oooh like 100 pounds lighter, i could've just walked on it, but instead i'd take a step, then instantly go up to my knees i snow. I now have all kinds of scratches all over my ankles and shins from the ice. Needless to say though, nothing i did helped.

Considering where we live and the zero amount of cell coverage, the deal is usually that when someone leaves the house, we give them somewhere between 30-45 minutes for them to call us and let us know that they got to town okay. Well... when i left the house at 7:35, i said that i'd call when i got to town. Unfortunately, my family doesn't love me and they never came looking for me, even when i'd been gone for an hour without calling. (Mom, Dad, and Kimberly... that was a miniature guilt trip. Just so we're clear.) So after a total of an hour and a half of alternating between crying, sitting and starting into space, and trying to dig an entire car out of the ice encrusted snow, it occurred to me that i could call 911. In case you didn't know, even if you don't have regular service on your cell phone, there is always always always emergency service so you can call 911. Anyways, i dialed, hit "Send", then immediately hit "End" and used that service to call the house. That's right, i stole cell service from 911. haha i'm so clever!

Mom and Dad came in the park truck and towed the car out of there and all was well, or so i thought. When they were connecting the tow strap, i remembered that i'd heard a hissing sound when i went off the road. Sure enough, my back left tire was blown, and we had to put the donut on there. So then Dad drove me to school in Missy so he could take the tire to get fixed, while Mom drove the truck back, picked up Junior, and came back into town so she could bring Dad home in order for me to keep the car.

And just to give me a chance to vent, i just want to say that this is all Tina Campbell's fault. She is a federal judge who has told the county not to maintain the majority of the road that i take to school. A few weeks ago when we got like a foot and a half of snow, it was MOSTLY plowed, but they left 4 inches of snow on it for some stupid reason. That was alright at the time, because Missy can make it through 4 inches of snow. However, now that some time has passed and the snow has been packed, it is about 2 inches of solid ice, whereas the rest of the roads in the area have had all the snow melted off by now. So because of Tina Campbell, i blew a tire, i have 3 Band-Aids on each ankle, my fingertips were literally completely numb for the majority of the day, my back bumper is seriously cracked, and so is my dignity and confidence in my driving abilities.

What's the moral of the story? That's right. Always, always, always find someone to blame for your rotten luck. :)

P.S. Has anyone else noticed that i can dramatize absolutely any story? Man... i should really be a writer.

P.P.S. Say "Chip shaped suitcase" 5 times fast, i dare you.
